Five years after graduating from art school in Philly and moving home to SC, I hit a creative wall. I felt simultaneously anxious to create and defeated around what I could make. What opportunities could I find back in my hometown? I began to post old art from school on my Instagram, and one day a woman stumbled across my page. She was (is) a writer and Reiki teacher, and she commented on a photo. We connected, began talking, and eventually I became a student of hers. Virginia Mason Richardson.
Virginia helped me remember how to tap back into my inner child, play with my own magic and create the world I want to exist in. Over the course of my Reiki mentorship, she sent a few different packages to help with my journey. One of these included this little blue notebook. This book, with the words “TRUST YOUR CRAZY IDEAS” embossed in gold ink, became the place for drawings and thoughts as I rediscovered my love for recording the world aroud me.
