mommy walks.

My life changed this summer with the birth of my son, as did my art. My practice shifted to a slower, softer, more delicious sort of art-making. I now painted to reconnect with my deepest identity and to stay sane.

Spending hours each week walking with my son in his stroller, I began taking photos of our Colorado neighborhood, and later, with him sitting next to me in his little lounge chair, I would paint the scenes. This painting collection is soft and colorful, a return to a simpler time and an embrace of the pure joy of painting what I see in daily life. It’s a reminder of the beauty we can find when we slow our roll and de-hustle our life.
